Northern Express Care Newport is seeking a compassionate and self-motivated Medical Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will provide important administrative and clinical support to a busy medical office. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with patients of all ages and possess excellent communication, computer, and customer service skills. Previous experience in express care or urgent care settings is preferred, along with BLS certification or the ability to acquire it.

This role will be responsible for providing administrative support and clinical support at the direction of the provider including, but not limited to greeting, scheduling and intake of patients of Northern Express Care, assisting healthcare providers with various administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate patient record within the electronic medical record systems, all while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification required upon employment and maintain during employment. 
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification through an approved course of medical assistant or nursing assistant study preferred.

Experience: 

• Minimum one-year experience under supervision in a community health center, medical office or comparable practice settingpreferred.
