Summary/Objective:
The furniture salesperson has direct contact with the public. They must represent the store in a positive manner. They must be knowledgeable about the product line and can make suggestions, show customers around the showroom, and help customers make the best decision in selecting their furniture.

Essential Functions:

• Maximize company sales growth and profitability with creative selling skills, teamwork, and customer service.
• Delivers an engaged experience to every customer, every time.
• Approaches customers as they enter the store.
• Inquiries about the type of furniture customer wants/needs.
• Makes suggestions on other items as they show customers around.
• Answer any questions the customer asks.
• Conducts suggestive selling to move multiple products.
• Processes the paperwork for sale and arranges financing when needed.
• Assists the sales staff with managing their open records.
• Helps to close our 90-day open orders report. 
• Assists with customer refunds.
• Assists with getting sales orders completed. 
• Becomes knowledgeable about our vendors and products.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Previous retail and commissioned sales experience a plus
• Ability to build/maintain a client base and provide creative furnishing solutions for customers' needs.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Suitable time management and organizational skills
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 1-2 years of working experience in customer service and/or sales

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily be in the warehouse area. Hours will include Monday through Friday (3 days) 10am to 7 pm and Sat 10am-6 pm and SUN 10am-5 pm

The employee will be required to stand, walk, squat, kneel, or bend throughout the office and facility. Will frequently be required to stand, handle or grip equipment, reach outwards. The employee must be able to lift/move/push/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
