The Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI)
is charged with implementing the State's Public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education.
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is seeking applicants for a Executive Assistant I (Working Title: Executive Assistant) for the Office of Digital Learning and Technology Services.
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing North Carolina’s public-school laws and the State Board of Education’s rules and regulations governing pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public education. The elected State Superintendent of Public Instruction serves as the head of the Department of Public Instruction and the secretary and chief administrative officer of the State Board of Education. NCDPI provides leadership and services to the 115 local public-school districts, charter schools, innovative schools, and the three residential schools for students with hearing and visual impairments.
This position provides support to two Deputy Superintendents and manages their offices to ensure its smooth, professional, and efficient operation on a daily basis. The position serves as the point of contact, maintains the daily schedules, develops travel reimbursement and procurement documentation, and develops and/or deploys communications as needed for each deputy superintendent. The position also works closely with other administrative staff within the agency on behalf of the deputy superintendents.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Demonstrated experience presenting to individuals and/or groups.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite products.

MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES
:
Demonstrated ability to communicate both verbally and in written format in a clear and concise manner.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution;
or
Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience;
or
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
