Description

Evergreen North America is a leading provider of environmental and industrial cleaning solutions to the downstream and midstream energy sectors. We are leaders in each of our respective service lines, including Vapor Control, Chemical Cleaning, Tank Cleaning, Water Treatment, Vacuum Services, Hydroblasting, Hydroexcavation, and Industrial Logistics & Transportation. We currently have an opening for Regional Safety Director for our West Area (Salt Lake City, Utah; Nevada, Wyoming, Iowa, Wisconsin).

Position Summary: The Regional Safety Director audits and reviews Evergreen North America/GEM safety programs and procedures and ensures branch compliance of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, EPA and State DEQ requirements. Ensures the monthly branch safety compliance reports are complete and accurate.

The Regional Safety Director is considered to be a professional and responsible member of corporate safety management team and must display a high level of leadership and communication skills, maintaining a positive working relationship with our regional & branch management teams. Facilitate the implementation of the elements of OSHA VPP for the branches and qualified facilities.

The Regional Safety Director will interface with corporate, regional and branch management to ensure all safety and training issues are being properly communicated within Evergreen North America/GEM, State and Federal compliance standards.

Summary of the Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate safety management systems and documents for OSHA Voluntary Protection Program annual evaluations.

• Gather safety compliance statistics slides from Branch Safety Managers and present in Monthly Operations Review (MOR).

• Promote the effective supervision, management, motivation and training of all Evergreen North America/GEM team members in areas of personal safety, health, regulatory compliance, and environmental concerns.

• Perform periodic safety and compliance audits for jobsite and branch locations

• Provide environmental, health, and safety expertise to ensure compliance with applicable Evergreen North America/GEM, federal, state, and local regulations.

• Assist in administering the elements of VPP and preparation for certification and re certification audits.

• Assist Branch Safety Managers with Investigations and brings to resolution any near misses and accidents in our safety management system

• Analyze safety incentives at a regional level and report on effectiveness of such programs

• Manage Regional injury cases working with Occupational clinics and Evergreen North America/GEM Corporate Risk Manager

• Manage Regional DOT compliance

Requirements

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in the Microsoft suite of programs, including Word®, PowerPoint®, Outlook® and Excel®.

• Outstanding communication skills including written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret both common scientific and technical journals, construction designs, and legal documents.

• Ability to perform extensive travel for training, auditing, and incident review purposes.

• Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours or more; frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.

• Must be able to work outdoors in a wide range of temperatures and weather conditions.

• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

• Ability to be “on call” 24/7 for emergencies.

• Must possess a valid drivers’ license to operate a motor vehicle and authorize Evergreen North America/GEM to validate by means of an MVR search.

Education and/or Experience

• Will have a minimum of Associate’s degree in safety, health, or industry recognized safety certification,

• Will Have 5 years experience in a safety, with 3 years in a professional level.

• Must have a professional safety certification (ex.CSHO, CSST, COSS, SMS, ASP, CSP)

• Basic Understanding of the Federal, State and Local OSHA & DOT rules and regulations
