Nordic Ski Association of Anchorage is Hiring an Office Administrator Near Anchorage, AK

Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage
Mission: Promote all forms of Nordic skiing as a healthy individual and family activity

The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage (NSAA) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting various forms of Nordic skiing in the greater Anchorage area. The organization is responsible for maintaining and grooming 160 kilometers of exceptional ski trails, arranging and supervising several races, and providing skiing events, programs, and lessons suitable for all ages and skill levels. NSAA has a small but active workforce and depends on numerous devoted volunteers to carry out its broad range of programs and activities. The association is backed by over 4,000 members, corporate sponsors, private and public grants, and community partnerships.

We're looking for an Office Administrator to join our team. As the first point of contact with the public, you'll oversee office supplies and equipment, merchandise, membership and donor databases, and incoming and outgoing mail. You'll work independently, manage workflow, and support NSAA staff with administrative processes. You'll provide program and bookkeeping support, and represent the organization at public events. If you're passionate about organization, detail-oriented, and able to work independently, we want to hear from you!

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Able to interact in a pleasant, tactful manner with varying personality types
  • Able to perform under pressure in an environment where frequent interruptions are common
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to carry out a multi-faceted workload
  • Able to operate a computer, printer, copier, and postage meter. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google programs
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Familiarity with the sport of Nordic skiing is a plus

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Sit and engage in in-person communications
  • Move about the workplace
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally be exposed to harsh weather conditions outside
  • Able to work in less-than-ideal offices, facilities, or situations
  • The noise level in the primary work environment is usually quiet
