Noir Kitchen & Cocktails is Hiring a 3rd Shift Kitchen Manager Near Nashville, TN

Noir Kitchen & Cocktails in Nashville, TN is looking for one 3rd shift kitchen manager to join our team. We are located on 501 Main St.. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and reliable.

Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing Late-Night Operations: Manage all kitchen activities during the late-night shift, typically ranging from closing hours to early morning, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  2. Staff Supervision: Direct and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and prep cooks, ensuring that they adhere to established standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety. Provide guidance, support, and training as needed.
  3. Food Preparation and Cooking: Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring that dishes are prepared according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards. Monitor food presentation and taste to maintain consistency and quality.
  4. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies during the shift, ensuring that adequate stock is maintained for efficient kitchen operations. Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries and manage inventory rotation to minimize waste.
  5. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of food storage areas, equipment, and workstations to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards. Address any issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
  6. Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and sanitized according to health and safety regulations. Coordinate with maintenance staff for repairs and maintenance tasks as required.
  7. Budget Management: Assist in managing kitchen-related expenses, including food costs, labor costs, and equipment maintenance costs. Implement cost-saving measures where possible without compromising on quality.
  8. Communication: Maintain effective communication with other kitchen staff, front-of-house staff, and management team members to ensure smooth coordination of operations. Relay important information, updates, and any issues that arise during the shift.

Qualifications

  1. Experience: Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, with at least some experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience working late-night shifts or in 24-hour establishments is preferred.
  2. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively, even during unconventional hours. Experience in training and coaching kitchen staff is desirable.
  3. Culinary Skills: Solid culinary skills with a good understanding of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations. A culinary degree or certification is a plus.
  4. Organization: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and coordinate multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety.
  6. Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
  7. Communication: Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and interact with team members and other staff.
  8. Flexibility: Willingness to work late-night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required in the restaurant industry.
