Job Summary: As the Government Relations & Compliance Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all regulatory aspects as it relates to sales, transportation, and manufacturing of our products. Working in a dynamic environment, the Government Relations & Compliance Manager is expected to create and maintain a compliance matrix mapping out regulations in all 50 states. The ideal candidate will have great organizational skills, be a concise communicator, and have proven success in time management, risk management, and cultivating relationships with national and local government and regulatory bodies. About you:
Ability to oversee multiple projects at any time with a high level of accuracy, with an understanding of risk management.
Proficient budget tracking and cost containment expertise.
Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to communicate, implement, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously.
Create and maintain relationships with multiple governing and regulatory bodies.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong cross-functional collaborator, able to align multiple departments with business needs.
Makes personal investments in professional growth and development by seeking ways to expand responsibilities, knowledge, and abilities.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with constant regulatory changes.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software.
Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time

Create and maintain a matrix of regulatory and compliance requirements by state.
Create and review regulatory SOPs in partnership with various leaders and departments
Assess risks and conduct audits of retail, manufacturing, and wholesale processes.
Maintain regulatory knowledge applicable to the position including being the point of contact for any regulatory bodies and/or government entities
Partner with and drive industry groups and coalitions to advocate for favorable legislative and regulatory outcomes.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with state legislators and staff, state executive branch officials, regulators, and local government officials in order to anticipate action and execute strategies.
Assess federal, state and local political and public policy environment; determine where legislative and regulatory action is advisable and where it is not; develop, implement and execute a legislative and regulatory strategic plan, in coordination with General Counsel.
Think business - in meetings with individuals outside the company, facilitate introductions to other relevant departments to initiate potential sales and business growth opportunities.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Thorough understanding of regulatory databases and resources
Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and specifications, technical procedures, and government regulations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize time and priorities to be most productive
Ability to effectively multitask while analyzing and solving problems
Communicate in a clear, concise, and professional manner; demonstrate strong written, oral, listening, and presentation skills to confidently interact and coordinate both technical and non-technical issues
