POSITION OBJECTIVES: Hands on leader with solid experience in troubleshooting and IT systems. Lead Systems Administrators, DBAs, cyber security, and developers’ groups in supporting daily operations of the casino. Providing strategic and day-to-day direction in a wide range of software related activities that support all team members. Ensure licensing and systems remain current and up to date. Monitor backups to ensure all systems can be restored if/when needed. Develop backup plans that meet NRWC and NIGC compliance requirements. Coordinate activities with applicable outside vendors, internal departments, and internal IT team members. Work in conjunction with the IT Operations Manager to ensure NRWC systems are working properly.

JOB SUMMARY: Manage all systems in the casino to ensure security and operational best practices are being implemented. Ensure onboarding/offboarding of team members is properly documented and performed. Work with the IT CIO to ensure department goals are being coordinated and met. Provide hands on support to end users as needed. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills and knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related IT field
  • Any one or any combination of the following that totals six academic years (72 months): (a) college/vocational/technical (b) work experience related to computer software or hardware.
  • Five years’ leadership experience in an IT department
  • Three years’ of working in a production environment with thorough knowledge of change management processes
  • Expert knowledge in Systems support or engineering.
  • Expert knowledge of diagnosing issues related to Active Directory and VMware
  • Advanced knowledge of networking systems and how they relate to distributed systems and end users.
  • Ability to train, oversee, and coordinate activities of junior level team members.
  • Must be dependable, responsible, and willing to work a flexible schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop IT systems architecture documents.
  • Assist IT Operations Manager and team with any hardware upgrade projects as needed.
  • Administrative abilities, including record keeping and communication.
  • Good guest service and teamwork skills
  • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License

Preferred skills and knowledge:

  • VMware – VCP Data Center and Desktop highly preferred
  • Certification such as Project , Security , Azure highly preferred
  • MSCA/MSCE or M365 Certification highly preferred
  • Five years’ or more of IT leadership in a gaming, tourism and hospitality industry is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull.
  • Ability to stand or move around continuously for 8 or more hours.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Maintain all systems for end users.
  • Assist Network Administrator Lead with planning and development of team members and strategy.
  • Research new technologies to facilitate and optimize current processes.
  • Submit written reports to CIO regarding integrity issues and other reporting as assigned.
  • Responsible for guest service training and facilitating the Guest Service Policy
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
