Nicolet High School is Hiring a (High School Office) Administrative Assistant and Communications Specialist Near Milwaukee, WI

SUMMARY
The high school office administrative assistant/communication specialist serves as a general support person for parents, staff, students, and other members of the high school office. This person works closely with the Associate Principals and Principal to support the individuals in these roles. In addition to these and other clerical duties, this position also coordinates, reviews, crafts, and may author both internal and external communications from the high school office with stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS
The person in this position needs to regularly demonstrate:

Detail-oriented and organizational skills: Juggling multiple tasks or projects is common. Hence, exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail is essential.

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills: This position regularly interacts with multiple people and is the point of contact between the school, the high school office, and staff, parents, and students.

Strong communication skills: The role entails communicating through both verbal and written means to provide information to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Multitasking abilities: Moving from task to task, some preplanned and some not, is a part of a day’s work. This means multitasking skills are vital.

Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively with the office team, District Office, teachers, other staff, parent/guardians, students, and the community is essential.

  • Serve as a positive role model.
  • Know and understand their identity and the identities of the students and strive to ensure an equitable learning environment.
  • Foster a safe, positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Compose and send messages via Skyward, Skylert, and other communication means to staff, parents/guardians, students, and the community.
  • Compose and distribute the weekly Parent Newsletter.
  • Compose and distribute the weekly Staff Newsletter.
  • Regularly compose draft communications for a wide variety of purposes.
  • Review, edit and revise district communications and website content.
  • Actively participate on the District’s Communications Team.
  • Identify key areas where communication practices can be improved and identify a process for improvement.
  • Serve as a backup for additional roles within the high school office.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Background, experience, or a post secondary degree in writing, journalism, marketing, or public relations is preferred.
