The Nurse Scheduler has many responsbilities inside our 63 bed building, but below are the most importatnt
Responsibilites
• Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for allshifts
• Recommends new approaches and effective scheduling practices for continualimprovements and efficiency in staffing.
• Advises and communicates with Executive Director and Director of Nursing ofstaffing, scheduling needs and/or shortages identified during assessment of nursing schedules.
• Serves as a liaison between the Director of Nursing, Executive Director and Human Resources when it has been identified there is a potential leave or assistance situation with anemployee.
• May assist Human Resources and Regional Director of Human Resources with FMLA, ADA or leave of absence requests.
• Handles various inquiries from Care Team Members regarding scheduling and providessolutions where needed.
• Validates PTO availability with Human Resources prior to approval.
• Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting communicating if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or tardiness
• Communicate with unit managers and the Director of Nursing regarding floor orientation schedules for newly hired Care Team Members in the nursing department
• Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes
• Signing time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out
• Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the masterschedule
Requirements
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including but not limited to; weekend and holiday rotation.
• SRNA license required
