Nicholas Air is Hiring an Aircraft Maintenance Controller Near Oxford, MS

This role is NOT remote at this time. Maintenance Controllers must report to the Oxford, Mississippi Headquarters daily.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Controller is responsible for managing mechanical irregularities and planning for the accomplishment of all scheduled maintenance activities. The Maintenance Controller will work with Maintenance, Scheduling, and Flight Operations to coordinate the workload for maintenance operations based upon fleet requirements. This position is a member of a team that arranges and manages the timely and efficient delivery of aircraft maintenance support to aircraft operations as required, on a 24/7 basis. The position shall ensure that all services performed meet the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations prior to return to service and provide maximum airworthy aircraft availability.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide clear information affecting maintenance status, action plans, return to service estimates, and other technical information as required to Flight Operations, Management, and Maintenance Department personnel. Communicate directly with flight crew members when operational discrepancies are discovered, and obtain all necessary information needed by technicians to perform prompt and effective repairs. Utilize maintenance tracking computer systems and accomplish the planning, scheduling, and logistics to complete all scheduled maintenance activities within the requirements of the aircraft inspection programs. Update Computerized Maintenance Tracking Program with verified compliance information using audited return to service documentation. Update Flight Operations Software in real-time, indicating aircraft fleet maintenance status.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for ensuring that mechanical delays are handled in a safe and expeditious manner, and in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
  • The Maintenance Controller will coordinate with other departments to expedite aircraft return to service
  • Control and track all Deferred Maintenance Items and ensure parts are available.
  • Authorize Deferred Maintenance Items and MEL’s
  • Ensure all deferrals are accomplished in accordance with company manuals and FARs.
  • Responsible for completing and distributing all applicable forms and documents in accordance with procedures set forth in company General Operations Manual (GOM)
  • Provide tracking of parts and equipment while they are in transit to an A.O.G. aircraft
  • Provides point of contact and control for maintenance performed on company aircraft away from main maintenance base by company personnel or contract maintenance
  • Performs MX Planning in issuance and tracking of scheduled maintenance workload
  • Obtain required approvals and completion of Ferry Flight Authorization Forms
  • Coordinates scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance performed on company aircraft
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance
  • Multi-tasking is required

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School graduate or equivalent; College Preferred
  • FAR 135 experience a plus
  • Completion of formal aircraft maintenance training for turbine-powered airplanes
  • Minimum 3-5 years transport-category jet aircraft-related experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform all job tasks
  • Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM, and ATA codes.
  • Experience in Microsoft Applications

REQUIREMENTS

  • This position must report daily to Oxford, MS Headquarters
  • This position must be flexible and able to work offsite
  • Must have a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Previous experience as Maintenance Controller required
  • Must have experience with Embraer Phenom aircraft, Bombardier, and Cessna products
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a background check
  • Subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
