Nextier Bank is Hiring a Business Development Officer Near Manor, PA

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for making direct sales calls on present and perspective customers. Promoting and selling products and services including loans, cash management, deposits to consumer and commercial customers. Assumes direct responsibility for the development and retention of banking relationships through the promotion of the banks products and services.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and manages client relationships.
  • Strives to increase market deposit size.
  • Initiates proactive outbound calls to meet established goals.
  • Produces quality referrals to all business units
  • Personally interviews all loan applicants.
  • Completes each loan application and all pre-processing functions in a timely manner to permit the disclosures to be mailed within the regulatory time period.
  • Communicates complex approvals and closes loans as requested.
  • Works with Commercial Lenders to generate business and provides commercial loan referrals in order to increase market loan production.
  • Receives and responds to various client questions and solves client problems in a timely manner.
  • Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments as necessary; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems.
  • Participates in community and civic organizations.
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with all internal and external clients.
  • Maintains effective relationships with supervisors, Retail Bank Associates, Commercial Lenders and of associates, while maintaining a spirit of teamwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend seminars and meetings as appropriate
  • May be required to attend sales and networking events as a bank representative to develop new business and to gain information and leads on new business relationships.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No supervisory responsibilities


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Administration and Management—Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Communication— Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Economics and Accounting – Knowledge of the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Sales and Marketing – Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, presentation skills and proven sales abilities.
  • Computers/Technical- Personal computer skills, and all company computer applications as necessary, i.e. email; intranet.
  • Banking- Knowledge of financial industry and bank dynamics, and a thorough knowledge of bank’s products and services, and bank security and transaction policies.
  • Bank Secrecy Act – In the performance of all the respective tasks and duties, employee will maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies and procedures.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of business development experience.


PHYSICAL/WORK CONDITIONS:
In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. While performing duties the employee is required to sit, talk and hear frequently, lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally; may be required to work evenings and/or weekends, attend remote meetings and/or to travel.
