Primary Responsibilities:
· Test all newly installed fire alarms and perform regular inspections to ensure that systems and equipment continue to work per their specifications. Diagnoses cause of electrical problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair.
· Responsible for the complete installation of fire alarms and other assigned security devices.
· Installs electrical system components as assigned (e.g., panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, etc.) to provide enhanced and/or upgraded system capabilities.
· Must travel to customer locations, thoroughly install devices, and program all fire alarm panels. Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
· Respond to maintenance calls, troubleshooting devices, and using device manuals to repair non-functioning fire alarms and restore them to original functionality or replace them if necessary.
· Instruct customers on proper device use and maintenance measures.
· Perform system and device upgrades on occasion.
· Ensure that the devices installed meet all local and federal laws and building codes.
· Provides service reports at each service location, completing all necessary paperwork with the client.
Basic Qualifications:
· 3 Years of practical experience as a fire alarm technician.
· Knowledge of all fire safety codes and regulations.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Must maintain an excellent driving record, maintain vehicle and vehicle inventory, and comply with company vehicle policy.
· NICET I Certification is PREFERRED but not required.
· Able to lift and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds, work from heights above 10 feet, and work in confined areas
· Able to stand for long periods of time and to lift, crouch, reach, handle, push, and pull. Able to work in extremely cold and extremely hot temperatures. Able to work while exposed to loud sounds and noise levels
