Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

Essential Duties:

• Fixed Assets – manage monthly capital spending activity, maintain fixed asset module, and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
• Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts, examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards defined within the department.
• Review and reconcile general ledger posted coding inputs from AP staff and/or Staff Accountant.
• Make more complex and routine closing journal entries such as debt interest accrual, deferred rent, property tax accrual, etc.
• Assist with any audits including year-end and preparing PBC schedules as required.
• Develop and implement proper keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Develop and maintain standard accounting reports including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, departmental expense summaries.
• Prepare ad hoc reporting as required/requested.
• Plan, assign, and review staff’s work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in accounting or Finance.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Accounting required.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Great Plains preferred.
• Experience with banking systems and Concur SAP preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel experience required.
