The Senior DevOps Engineer will be primarily responsible for configuration, optimization, documentation, and support of the infrastructure components of hosted software products. The Senior DevOps engineer will work closely with the development, architecture, and security teams and will be responsible for planning, documenting, implementing, administering, and optimizing the infrastructure. The engineer will also participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and maintenance is consistent with company standards, industry best practices, and security and regulatory requirements. Key success criteria for this role will be the ability to align infrastructure as per company standards and security requirements with repeatable processes to provide world class customer service to our clients. Responsibilities: Anticipate, identify, mitigate, and resolve issues relating to client facing infrastructure. Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for system performance, capacity, efficiency, and reliability and recommend enhancements to better meet client SLAs and standards. Research and recommend innovative, low risk, cost-effective and automated approaches for system administration and DevOps tasks. Install and maintain security patches in production and non-production environments, which include but are not limited to: Linux, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache web services. Practice configuration management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation as per company policies and procedures. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of the systems and applications, including review of system and application logs, and verifying the completion of scheduled jobs. Participate in the support process (including some on-call, out of hours) working closely with vendors, suppliers, and development teams to resolve issues and if required, restore failed client facing services as quickly as possible. Verify data protection and disaster recovery capabilities through regular service restore tests in accordance with Security requirements. Remain informed on regional laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices, ensuring this knowledge is communicated and shared with the infrastructure service managers as appropriate. Provide technical skillsets for DevOps related projects and be involved in technical planning and / or execution activities. Participate in team and broader discussions to analyze, discuss, and implement technical roadmaps and plans including conforming with relevant policies. Operate in accordance with incident, problem and change management procedures, contributing to their effective operation and ongoing process efficiency and improvement. Qualifications: 5 years’ work experience in a technical position responsible for managing infrastructure operations and application support. Knowledge of technical architecture design techniques, theories, principles, and practices. Ability to support automated CI/CD pipelines, with test integration, Jenkins experience preferred. Experience supporting client facing web applications. Knowledge of public and private cloud architecture, preferably AWS. Knowledge of Linux operating systems and command line. Knowledge of Networking concepts like Routing, SNMP, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancing. Knowledge of PostgreSQL databases. Knowledge of source control, Git experience preferred. Ability to automate repeatable tasks via scripting using tools such as Terraform or Cloud Formation. Ability to administer common Linux services (HTTPD, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, LDAP).
