SOUTH CONGRESS HOTEL is hiring for an OVERNIGHT BAKER
The living room for the neighborhood, South Congress Hotel is an 83-room boutique hotel designed to be a hub of activity for the community. A place for travelers and locals alike, the hotel has three restaurants, a coffee bakeshop, rooftop pool, award-winning Lobby Bar, and two retail spaces, in addition to a range of community events programming open to all. All locally owned, all right at the doorstep of Austin's favorite street.
JOB OVERVIEW
The South Congress Hotel Pastry Team executes all pastry-related items across the property. Our outlets include Cafe No Se, Manana Coffee and Bakeshop, the pool, and our large events program. If you like working in a highly organized, clean, and creative kitchen, this is the place!
Who you are: You are a hard-working creative with a strong eye for detail. You have the patience it takes to make intricate pastries and plate beautiful desserts. You know the enjoyment of a dish comes before a single bite is ever taken it is the presentation, history, detail, and story first.
What you'll learn: Modernized pastry technique, teamwork, moving with purpose, efficiency, accountability, the creative process from conception to finished product, pastry management, sourcing and inventory, teamwork, and leadership.
