JOB OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant II records and coordinates accounting activities in the day-to-day operations of the property. This includes but is not limited to daily, weekly, monthly bookkeeping for assigned properties, bank reconciliations, credit card statement reconciliations, month end close duties, accounts payable, income audit and preparation and review of monthly financial statements. The Staff Accountant II will work closely with the Property Controller and accounting team to manage the month-end close process to ensure financial reports are issued timely and accurately.

What you'll do:

  • Perform accounting and bookkeeping functions to provide accurate and timely financial statements for the corporate entity and select entities within the portfolio.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation across entities.
  • Assist with the reporting of financial data, KPIs, and trends to provide actionable insights for management decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboard reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
  • Maintain data integrity of the ProfitSword financial system
  • Identify opportunities to leverage accounting systems and technology to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to implement system enhancements, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Management of Corporate A/R & A/P
  • Oversee billing and invoicing processes for property clients, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and internal policies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to track and monitor pre-opening budgets for new projects.
  • Design and/or implement tools and templates to streamline accounting processes and reporting tasks.
  • Continuously assess and improve accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process automation and optimization.
  • Act as a property staff accountant as needed, assuming the responsibilities of a property-focused staff accountant.

  • A must: You have a college degree or advanced certification in Accounting or related field.
  • A must: You have at least 2 years of general ledger accounting experience.
  • A big plus: You have accounting experience in hospitality.
  • A must: You like to have fun & be nice.
