We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate mental health therapist with experience in substance abuse treatment to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with at-risk youth, ages 12-17, who present with behavioral challenges and substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify mental health, substance abuse, and trauma-related issues in adolescents.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care principles.
3. Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to address behavioral challenges, substance abuse issues, and trauma symptoms.
4. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including social workers, probation officers, school personnel, and other community agencies to coordinate services and support for clients.
5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and interventions according to agency standards and legal requirements.
6. Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
7. Advocate for clients' rights and access to resources within the community.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of CA.
• Experience providing mental health and substance abuse treatment services to adolescents, preferably in a community-based setting.
• Specialized training or certification in trauma-informed therapy, substance abuse treatment, or related areas is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of adolescent development, behavioral interventions, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations, including youth with complex needs and involvement in the child welfare or juvenile justice systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills.
• Experience with DMH paperwork and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation practices a plus.
• Valid CA Driver License and clean driving record, acceptable to Agency’s insurance carrier
