Eligible for $1000 incentive after 90 days of employment

Immediate opening for an Outreach Center Supervisor. This position would work collaboratively with the outreach center staff to ensure delivery of high-quality person-centered services that empower people, meet their needs, and support them. Qualified candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to consistently demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills; exercise discretion and handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately. BA in Human Services or related field. Leadership and supervision of staff in an outreach setting preferred. Must be able to lift 25-30 pounds. Valid Driver’s License Required.Excellent benefit package including IPERS.

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Under the direct supervision of the Development Director,this position supervises the Family Development Center Coordinators and manages Outreach programming.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Supervises the Family Development Center Coordinators including but not limited to the following:

a.Select, train, motivate and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures.

b.Monitors center processes and the quality of work of staff.

c.Periodically review the performance of the Family Development Center Coordinators and give appropriate feedback as well as an annual written review.

d.Manage time off requests and office coverage of Outreach offices.

e.Encourage outreach to collaborate and maintain new and existing community partnerships, service providers, and referral sources.

f.Support Outreach in grant application(s) for funding opportunities in their counties.

g.Review and write voucher requests for bills turned in by Outreach

h.Approve weekly deposits

i.Complete monthly reports and reconciliation.

j.Manage the National Able Program process.

k.Manage the AmeriCorp Program process.

l.Manage the Volunteer process.

m.Manage Food Bank Contract and training.

n.Coordinate Special Projects through Outreach Centers such as Toy Program, Back to School Program, Backpack Program, etc.

o.Work with Program Coordinator on Nepotism files.

p.Work with Program Coordinator on employee applications.

q.Assist Program Coordinator in administering county crisis funds with input of Outreach Coordinators.

r.Work with Program Coordinator on best processes for Outreach Center programming.

s.Assist in checking LIHEAP, LIHWAP and crisis fund applications through NIFCAP.

t.Work with Outreach Centers on supply and equipment needs and coordinate ordering.

u.Assist with county and city reporting annually.

v.Assist with CSBG data and application.

w.Perform other duties or complete other projects as assigned.

2.Manage, organize, order, inventory and provide support for agency information technology (computer, phone, internet, equipment) through documenting technology issues, needs, scheduling, and coding for correct billing procedures.

3.Assist with marketing the organization both internally and externally through the use of website, brochures, newsletters, social media, etc.

4.Process Elderly Waiver Chore billing.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES: 

1.Extensive knowledge of business.

2.Excellent command of the English language.

3.Knowledge of secretarial and office administrative procedures.

4.Ability to type a minimum of fifty-five (55) WPM with a high degree of accuracy.

5.Knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment, include personal computer, facsimile machine, photocopying machine, , telephone system and calculator.

6.Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word-processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.

7.Ability to construct and maintain spreadsheets to track heat assistance transactions including regular assistance payments, summer fill transfers, refunds and emergency payments.

8.High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Exceptional poise, tact and diplomacy.

9.Ability to gather and summarize data for reports.

10.Develop solutions to various administrative problems.

11.Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.

12.Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

13.Ability to obtain and maintain a driver’s license, automobile and current valid insurance in order to travel between centers, to training sessions, meetings, etc.

14.Knowledge of Agency policies, practices and procedures.

15.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and various other business and community contacts.

16.Ability to provide effective supervision and direction to other staff members, including skills in motivating, coaching and mentoring.

17.Ability to provide training for staff.

18.Ability to conduct effective presentations.

19.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

20.Excellent time management skills, including the ability to work under pressure, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.

21.Skill in Internet usage.

22.Skill in using teaching materials, including televisions, , computers, LCD Projector, etc.

23.Ability to work with confidential information.

24.Ability to work in a team-based environment.

25.Ability to adapt to the organizations changing needs.

26.Ability to pass a physical examination.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in human services or related field. Two years previous management experience desirable.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, policies and procedures manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups including clients, other employees and representatives of other organizations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to conduct interviews with clients and to assess crisis situations. Ability to communicate in a non-threatening, non-judgmental manner.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in diverse situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in verbal or written form and to deal with several variables.
