New Los Angeles Charter Schools operates three high performing independent charter schools in the

SUMMARY
New LA is seeking passionate, well organized teachers who are interested in the middle grades and are
seeking a small school environment where teacher voice is valued and leadership opportunities are
available. New LA is looking for outstanding, data-driven educators with a strong foundation in the Common
Core State Standards, and whose teaching beliefs and practices are rooted in anti-racist, culturally
responsive pedagogy.

Middle School Math Intervention Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS
In order to be considered for this position at New LA, candidates must:
Possess a California credential (or be enrolled in a university program): single subject in Mathematics,
or multiple subject with subject authorization in Mathematics;
Have experience at the elementary and/or middle level and enjoy working with middle school students;
At least five years of successful math teaching experience preferred;
Specific knowledge of common core math content, learning progressions, and key instructional shifts;
Demonstrated pedagogical excellence including proven intervention expertise, differentiated instruction
and student-centered methodologies;
Be committed to the mission and values of New LA and able to articulate commitment to the mission;
Actively engage with and support the school's social justice mission and demonstrates a commitment to
intersectional, anti-racist education;
Be flexible and be a team player;
Have a positive outlook, enjoy collaborating with colleagues and appreciate different points of view.
COMPENSATION
New LA offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000-$99,000 for fully credentialed teachers. Faculty
members also receive a generous package of medical benefits, and enrollment in the California State
Teachers Retirement System (STRS) retirement plan. Faculty members can choose to participate in an
optional 403b plan.
New LA also provides in-house PD as well as a fund to allow teachers to attend outside PD or workshops.
Teachers have opportunities to take on additional duties such as grade level leads, tutoring, summer school,
and peer mentorship, etc. These additional positions are stipended roles. New LA also offers both mentorship
and financial support for new teachers going through an induction program.
