Harvard-Westlake seeks a highly qualified middle school math teacher with versatility in teaching multiple levels of math and the ability to connect with students in grades 7-9. Our department teaches a rigorous curriculum, consisting of courses from Pre-Algebra through Precalculus, to students possessing a broad range of math aptitudes. We pride ourselves on caring for students as individual learners, collaborating on curriculum, and participating actively in the greater school community. Candidates should have a passion for teaching, mathematics, and working with middle school students. Furthermore, candidates should have a strong work ethic, high standards for themselves and others, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a similar field; MA or PhD a plus
Ability to teach a wide range of middle and high school school courses, such as Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2
Strong communication skills and team-player attitude
Enthusiasm for working with middle school students
Demonstrated ability to communicate concepts clearly and concisely to students and foster an innovative and creative learning environment
Ideal candidates will be excited by becoming part of our vibrant school community, broadly engaging with students and colleagues, and attending events outside their particular field of study.

Compensation:
Anticipated base compensation is $80,000-$100,000 depending on experience. The position will begin in August 2024.
