Job Title: Kids Ministry Elementary Assistant

Department: New Life Downtown

Reports to: Kids Ministry Elementary Director

Status: Part-Time | Hourly

Schedule: Sundays | 5 hours

New Life Church's mission is to make disciples in the Pikes Peak region, by calling people to worship, connect and serve.

Job Summary

To serve New Life Church by co-laboring with parents and the Children’s Ministry Team to provide a fun, safe, and

edifying environment at New Life Downtown Kids.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Sunday Morning Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to Children’s Director
  • Communicate any parent or children’s ministry needs to Elementary Team Lead and Children’s Director
  • Organize, clean and maintain classroom materials
  • Serves every Sunday
  • Trains new Elementary volunteers
  • Maintain order in a loving/caring environment
  • Abide by and implement Church policies and procedures
  • Leads Elementary Class activities
  • Teaches Sunday Lesson
  • Attend all required team meetings
  • Be on time for designated shift
  • Maintain confidentiality when discussing behavioral issues

Other Responsibilities:

  • Cooperate with the Children’s Ministry Director and Elementary Team Lead by performing any other duties when asked to do so
  • Manage and respond to calls and emails as needed.
  • Assist the department in coordinating various tasks and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues.
  • Assist supervisor with special projects, events, and diverse tasks in support of the department.
  • Attend department meetings, regular all-staff meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Utilize a thorough understanding of New Life Church employee policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support for ministries of New Life Church.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment.
  • Cooperate with leadership by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Education and Experience

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 1-2 years of related experience

Working Conditions and Requirements of Office Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity is necessary to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
