New Freedom Ops LLC is Hiring a Facilities Technician Near Phoenix, AZ

The primary responsibility of the Facilities Technician role is to ensure daily upkeep and operations of a large facility, to include maintenance of all common areas, facility technical systems, and through these systems ensure the safety of employees and members.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs or assists with routine preventive maintenance, repair, and assembly of building systems.
  • Installs and/or repairs facilities equipment and finishes, including but not limited to: fan coils, lighting, bulb replacement, ceiling tile, carpet, wall coverings, life safety devices, temperature controls, door hardware, PA systems, terminal distribution units, exhaust fans, plumbing systems and fixtures, and kitchen equipment.
  • Cleans and maintains all shops and equipment rooms.
  • Disposes of hazardous waste in appropriate receptacles.
  • Moving of furniture, boxes, and related equipment.
  • Additional light maintenance work, including patching and painting.
  • Identification and reporting of safety issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Execution of trash removal and recycling processes.
  • Completes and closes out work orders to ensure completion in a timely manner.
  • Sorts and puts away supplies in an organized fashion.
  • Assists other departments with any facility, technical, or maintenance needs.
  • Provides superior customer service to staff and members.
  • Effectively coordinates with vendors as needed.
  • Rotates on-call schedule and works outside of regular shift as required.
  • In addition, all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely
  • Experienced at hanging wall-mounted objects and assembling furniture
  • Must be punctual and accountable to meet the requirements of the department
  • Ability to participate in walk-throughs which include climbing ladders, squatting and other similar physical demands; requires the ability to maneuver in confined spaces 10% of the time and the ability to perform duties at heights 10% of the time
  • Work requires walking and/or standing 85% of the time; 10% of walking may be on un-even terrain
  • Ability to sit, stand and bend; ability to complete repetitive motions of hands and wrists with frequent computer use
  • Must be able to routinely lift 30-50 pounds
  • Must be capable of working extended hours and/or outside of normal schedule when needed
  • Bilingual (Spanish) may be preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Three (3) years of equivalent experience required
  • Valid AZ driver’s license may be required
  • CPR/FA certification required
  • Successful clearance of annual MVR may be required
  • Successful clearance of pre-employment criminal/county/state background check
  • Successful clearance of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Successful clearance of annual TB PPD testing
