Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient procedures and providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our dental practice.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including taking X-rays, passing instruments, and providing suction
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history
- Assist with medical coding and maintaining accurate patient records
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Implement infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Provide support to front office staff as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program preferred
- Current certification in dental assisting preferred
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Eaglesoft, X-Ray, and Epic
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of dental coding and insurance billing is a plus
