New Energy Works is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Farmington, NY

Position: :Human Resources Manager
Company: :New Energy Works & Pioneer Millworks
Reports To: Controller – Finance
Pay Range: $75,000-$100,000 per year

Overview –:

This role, reporting to the Controller, is primarily responsible for the management of benefits and all Human Resources related activities for the organization, as well as overseeing company payroll. The Human Resources Manager is highly visible within the organization and will provide excellent service and support to our employees with the help and backing of our dedicated finance and admin team. This role also supports and champions the “3P” ethos of our 100% Employee-Owned company, which places equal emphasis on People, Planet, and Prosperity, through policy and program administration.

Job Duties:

  • Overseeing weekly payroll.
  • Manage employee change.
  • Assist with recruiting when appropriate.
  • Onboarding of hourly and salaried employees.
  • Administer new hire paperwork.
  • Lead termination process for exiting employees.
  • Employment verifications.
  • Manage company benefits program.
  • Expert point of contact for employees on HR, benefit, and payroll matters.
  • Updating and maintaining system for payroll deductions including benefit withholdings and garnishments.
  • Managing open enrollment process.
  • Building relationships with employees.
  • Reconciling insurance & benefit invoices.
  • Manage claims process & submissions for PFL, DBL and Workers Compensation.
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting for PFL, DBL and Workers Compensation.
  • 401k lead including reporting and notifications.
  • Tracking eligibility and enrollment into company 401k.
  • Preparation of annual ESOP Census.
  • Management of various other compliance reporting.
  • Quarterly & annual tax reporting, including W-2s and 1095’s.
  • Review & respond to unemployment notifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state labor laws.
  • Maintaining company handbook; assisting with policy creation and updates as needed.
  • Maintaining appropriate level of confidentiality of personnel data.
  • Other tasks as directed by the Controller.

Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field.
  • 3-5 Years Human Resources management experience.
  • Knowledge of labor law standards, HR compliance/documentation processes, and known best practices with the ability to keep current on any industry changes over time.
  • Payroll and benefits administration experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of employee recruiting and retention strategies and systems.
  • SHRM accreditation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work closely with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office programs and applications.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment, preferred.
  • Attention to detail and follow through with time sensitive requests.
