Summer camp is a great place to make memories and build friendships – and camp counselors are the key to making it all happen! Counselors are assigned to a group of campers, to ensure the safety and welfare of the group as well as assist with daily programs.

The New Canaan YMCA has THREE different summer day camps – let us know which is the right one for YOU! 

• Camp Y-Ki, where you can spend your days outside soaking up the sun and fresh air, knowing you have your weekends and nights free for other things. Y-Ki is held at Kiwanis Park and is for campers entering grades 1 – 6. Y-Ki includes activities like swimming, archery, Arts & Crafts, nature classes, fun sports and special events (either on-site or field trips off-site).
• Camp Mini – is for the younger campers, ages 3 – 5. This program takes place at the New Canaan YMCA building, for those who may prefer to spend part of their days indoors. Camp Mini includes Bouncing Bears gym time, Arts & Crafts, Swim Lessons and Free Swim, Outdoor playground time and fun special events.
• Special Cares Inclusion Support – Inclusive Care Counselors work to support our campers who need extra support with individual needs. College or High School students with diverse needs experience would be matched to campers in our Camp Y-Ki and/or Camp Mini groups. Inclusive Support counselors provide campers with encouragement to participate in camp activities, making adaptations as needed.

We are looking for candidates aged 16 and up who are able to work Monday through Friday 8:30 – 4 (or 5:30 for those working for Extended Day) from June 24 through August 16 (with some mandatory training days the week before the summer sessions begin). Previous camp experience and/or experience with children is a plus!
