The New Canaan YMCA is looking to hire a Director of Aquatic Operations and Safety, a role that guides the total operations of the New Canaan YMCA Aquatic Department. This is a full-time salaried position.

This role oversees our on-site aquatic center (three beautiful indoor pools) as well as the collaboration with area off-site aquatics, such as at our Camp Y-Ki day camp and summer swim lessons at the Steve Benko Pool in Waveny Park.

The Director must be experienced in lifeguarding, aquatic instruction and with supervising staff. The Director is also responsible for budget development and management for the department, and in creating quality programming for our members and the community.

Strong knowledge of pool safety including state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations is required. Candidates must have experience with proper maintenance of pools and the ability to maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.

Applicants must be certified in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
