The New Canaan YMCA is seeking two passionate and experienced individuals to join our team as Full-Time Coaches of Artistic Swimming for our Nationally-Ranked Aquianas team.

As key members of our program, you will contribute to the growth and success of our 75 member artistic swimming program while fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our swimmers.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the Director of Artistic Swimming in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the artistic swimming program.

- Plan and lead artistic swimming practices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality coaching and instruction.

- Provide individualized training and feedback to swimmers, focusing on skill development and performance enhancement.

- Collaborate with the Aquatics Department to develop and implement competition strategies and schedules.

- Support the recruitment, selection, and training of artistic swimming coaches and volunteers.

- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.

- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, performance evaluations, and program participation.

- Communicate effectively with parents, swimmers, and staff to provide program updates, address concerns, and ensure a positive experience for all.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience in artistic swimming, with a proven track record of success.

- Strong knowledge of artistic swimming techniques, training methodologies, and competition rules.

- Possess current certifications in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, and AED (or ability to obtain upon hiring).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with swimmers, parents, and staff.

- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire athletes.

- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not required.

- Availability after-school/evenings and weekends for coaching and lessons.

- Availability to travel to competitions, clinics, etc is required (schedules provided in advance)
