Job Description
Nevada State College (NSC) invites applications for a Lecturer of Human Health Sciences with specialization in any of the following fields: Nutrition, Public Health, Healthcare Administration or related fields to begin Fall 2023. The selected candidate will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary team in the Department of Physical and Life Sciences, which supports Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Resource Sciences, and Human Health Sciences. We hope to find a colleague with interest and potential to participate in interdisciplinary opportunities in research and curriculum development among faculty and students.
Unless stated otherwise, all positions are required Nevada residency and on-site work.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • This is a 12-month appointment assigned 30 credits per academic year, which equates to approximately 12 credit hours in the fall semester, 12 credit hours in the spring semester, and 6 credit hours in the summer term. HHS classes typically range from 3-4 credit hours per class.
  • Teach lower- and upper-level courses in the Human Health Sciences program
  • Serve on departmental and college-wide committees.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
Required Qualifications:
  • M.S. or terminal other degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Nutrition, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Health Sciences, Biochemistry or other related field at the time of employment.
  • Evidence of strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduates.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSC does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Rank, Salary & Benefits:
Non-tenure track 12-month Lecture. Budgeted salary for this position is $56,000. Nevada State College offers excellent benefits, including 15.50% retirement match, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leave days, 11 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three health insurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts.
