What to Expect:
The HR Development Program’s mission is to build a deep pipeline of Human Resources Business Partners with the capacity to transform into future people leaders. This accelerated, 24-month development program provides exposure to both corporate headquarter and manufacturing or distribution facility environments located in many different cities throughout the United States.
Nestlé's HRDPs operate as strategic partners by applying HR skills to solve real business problems and make a vital impact on the businesses that produce and distribute some of the most iconic products on earth. This program provides leadership roles in the execution of employee development, employee relations/labor relations, policy/contract interpretation, compensation administration, and staffing and legal compliance. Our program incorporates structured learning experiences that provide a robust, diversified skillset upon program graduation.
Program Breakdown:
  • First Rotation (Corporate Headquarters – Solon, OH – 4-6 months): You will begin your corporate rotation by relocating to Solon, OH. The first rotation is focused and crafted for you to learn and practice HR Business activities to gain foundational understanding of the day in the life of an HR Generalist. Throughout this period, you will manage projects assigned from different specialist group. You will execute strategic project work across a number of key fields including recruitment, compensation, talent management, diversity & inclusion, organizational development and change management. This rotation concludes with a final presentation with recommendation of findings to the HR Leadership Team.
  • Second Rotation (Manufacturing Facility – Various U.S. Locations – 18-20 months):The second rotation requires participants to relocate to a field-based facility. Here, you will function as the critical liaison between associates and management by communicating policies and procedures, providing counsel to associates and mentorship to supervisors to maintain a productive and positive work environment. You will assist with developing and executing people processes to attract, train, and retain employees and cultivate robust relationships with business partners, employee client groups, and union management (where applicable). The end takeaways include flawless execution and understanding of performance management, employee communications, employee relations processes, and local HR initiatives and priorities.
  • Graduation Placement Assignment (Program Completion):At the completion of your second rotation, you officially graduate and will be placed in a field HR Generalist role. These highly sought-after positions are comprehensive, interactive, and strategically coordinated into the HR function. You will capitalize on your experiences and findings during the previous two rotations to excel in this next position.
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree completed and available to start the program by June 2023
  • Preferred majors include but are not limited to: Business Administration, Human Resources, Labor and Employment Relations, or related fields.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
  • Willingness to relocate throughout program and career
  • Sponsorship for work visas are not available for this program
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data and make data driven decisions
  • Ability and eagerness to navigate and problem-solve in ambiguous situations
  • Prioritize workload, self-manage projects, and balance multiple tasks
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and management; exhibit professional maturity
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred, but not required
  • Must possess strong presentation and training skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Access). Preferred experience with an HRIS system (such as Workday, SAP, SuccessFactors)
