Position Summary

We’re a leader in the pet care category and part of the world’s largest food company—so you can imagine our salesforce is BIG. In pet care, we focus our sales efforts within the retail and veterinary sales channels to ensure we’re at the forefront of consumers’ minds. You’ll become the expert in our products and the face behind Purina brands to your customers—some of the most well recognized and loved brands around world.

As the Customer Account Manager, you’ll drive category growth and achieves annual sales and commercial spend targets for assigned categories and customers. This role, focused on our Cat Litter and Treats portfolio for Target, is deeply involved in the activation of 4P objectives. You will implement Nestlé Purina PetCare brand strategies and tactics with Target by working closely with key decision makers and utilizing category management initiatives.

  • Frequent customer interaction to implement the annual plans, drive execution, gain distribution, and activate the customer category strategies, shopper marketing, and service level issues or product quality issues
  • Ensure achievement of agreed customer(s) targets/key performance indicators (Category growth, Sales, Real Internal Growth, Customer service and in-stock levels, etc.)
  • Proactively monitor and update the overall business plan, including managing trade budgets, spending and volume, to achieve all sales objectives
  • Conduct post event analysis to evaluate promotional volume, consumption, profit and spending results versus plan and leverage findings to maximize future promotional opportunities
  • Conduct category business reviews to discuss the state of the business, consumer trends, key business drivers, and incremental opportunities
  • Develop accurate monthly forecasts to project annual sales volume, consumption data, and inventory changes
  • Proactively seek out profitable opportunities to grow incremental volume and potential risks or threats to monthly forecasts
  • Leverage Customer Marketing resources to develop and implement collaborative marketing programs in alignment with brand and customer strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 2 years of experience in sales, account management, business development or category development activity with a manufacturer, distributor, or retail operations

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or finance is preferred
  • Must be able to travel up to 20% as business needs require

The approximate pay range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
