Accounting functions may include: benefit plan audits, stock compensation and administration, foreign exchange, intercompany, Hyperion administration, G/L maintenance, financial statement consolidation, SEC and other external reporting and cash accounting.
Manager is responsible for supervising the day-to-day functions for the corporate accounting / financial reporting processes of the company.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.

1. Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual supporting schedules for responsible accounting functions;
2. Review journal vouchers, monthly support schedules and general ledger account reconciliations
3. Supervise the day-to-day maintenance and projects associated with those areas of responsibility
4. Research new/revised accounting requirements and work with peers to incorporate them into schedules, reports, and monthly procedures
5. Coordinate activities to ensure internal/external auditors requests are completed
6. Ensure integrity of relevant financial system modules and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
7. Ensure that accounting functions are Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliant
8. Assist in providing guidance on accounting issues to business groups of the company as needed
9. Assist in providing new employees with appropriate training on business processes and system applications for assigned areas of responsibility. Assist in providing direction as needed to team members
10. Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, procedures and accounting assumptions on an ongoing basis. Recommend and assist in process improvements to improve the control environment and increase the utilization of resources (people, technology, funds)
11. Develop and maintain documentation for business and system processes for assigned responsibilities
12. Represent the department in meetings and through written and verbal communication with internal and external customers
13. Perform a variety of other functions/ad-hoc projects as assigned to aid in the department's/company's achievement of goals and business objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent experience/training
2. Professional certification (CPA) required
3. Minimum five years of professional accounting experience in a large public accounting firm or large public company accounting department preferred
4. Demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities; manager experience preferred
5. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
6. Demonstrated ability to work on projects and prioritize and execute concurrent assignments.

2. Demonstrated ability to design effective controls over financial reporting
3. Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
4. Self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
5. Flexible/adaptable to constant change and scheduling needs to meet deadlines.
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office software; good working knowledge of mainframe accounting/reporting systems SAP general ledger and Hyperion Financial Management reporting tool preferred
