Medical Receptionist

*Job pay based on experience

We are looking for an exceptional Medical Receptionist who has knowledge and experience with insurance verifications and private insurances.

Job Duties and Responsibilities, may include but not limited to:

• Collecting all patient registration and insurance data for billing purposes. Verifying patient's insurance coverage and informing patient of any out of pocket expenses.
• Collecting patient payments including copays, coinsurance, deductibles, outstanding balances, and additional fees as applicable.
• Assists with managing patient administrative functions including handling patient relations, check-in/check-out, scheduling and answering phones.
• Oversight of physician schedules to identify errors or conflicts in scheduling.
• Assists patients with referral processing and scheduling process.
• Assist in other functions of the physician practice as needed.
• Travel to our different offices as deemed necessary.

Qualifications, Experience and Special Skills:

• One year of Medical Receptionist or other applicable clinical work experience is highly preferred.
• Athena EMR knowledge and/or previous Nephrology office experience a PLUS
• Bilingual skills a plus but not required
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to handle semi-heavy multi-line phone system
• Friendly and professional communication skills- REQUIRED
• Ability to identify workflow process delays/problems and drive improvements.
• Ability to develop and maintain interpersonal and collaborative relationship with fellow team members and coworkers.

Education: High School or equivalent (preferred)

License: Medical Receptionist
