Description

The Referrals Manager at NOAH plays a pivotal role in optimizing and coordinating the referral process within our Federally. Qualified Health Center(s) (FQHC). Responsibilities will include managing the referrals team, facilitating seamless communication between internal and external healthcare providers, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of patient referrals, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and internal protocols ensuring alignment with HRSA and FTCA guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations and work assignments of staff, this includes the monitoring and enforcement of KPIs.

  • Monitor and track referral status, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.

  • Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and referral guidelines and disseminate information to relevant stakeholders.

  • Conduct regular audits of referral documentation and processes to identify areas for improvement.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external healthcare providers to streamline the referral process.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all referrals, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant tools.

  • Generate reports and analyze referral data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and adherence to referral guidelines.

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of referrals and prior authorizations in accordance with accepted standards, guidelines, organizational policy, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains knowledge of all facets of referrals and eligibility verifications; serves as a subject matter expert to staff.

NOAH requires all new hires to have received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine before their start date and be scheduled for their second dose. New hires who choose to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine only need one dose to fulfill this requirement. Reasonable accommodations will be considered.

Qualifications


Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years’ work experience in related field

  • 5 years’ minimum experience in healthcare administration or referral management.

  • In-depth knowledge of referral process, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards. 

  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant healthcare software. 

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • 2 years’ Customer service experience; healthcare industry experience. 

Other Requirements:

  • New Hires are required to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing (effective 11/1/2022).

  • Current Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or must pass fingerprint clearance within 7 days following hire
