MissionOur mission is to provide the children of NCS with educational opportunities through a rigorous, comprehensive K-8 program that cultivates the intellectual, social and emotional development of each child. Our students, who include children with autism spectrum disorders, will become independent learners and critical thinkers, will acquire the academic skills that they need to succeed in college preparatory high schools and will exhibit the social and emotional skills that will allow them to reach their full potentialResponsibilities:Planning and providing high quality speech and language therapy services to students with IEPs, addressing areas such as receptive and expressive language, articulation, fluency, social-pragmatic skillsImplementing Social Club programming for students diagnosed with ASD according to Social Thinking curriculum and conceptsWriting session notes, progress reports and IEP goals for students with mandated speech servicesConducting individual student evaluations (formal and informal) and reporting resultsProviding classroom strategies and intervention level services for at risk students as neededRegularly updating and meeting with leaders, teachers and parents on student progressParticipate/Provide professional development: On-going participation in learning opportunities with colleaguesOn-going feedback in order to promote professional growthProvide workshops to families/staffQualifications:Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders Licensed SLP/CF (high quality supervision available)Experience working with students with social-cognitive learning challengesBilingual therapist preferredFamiliarity with Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking Curriculum (preferred)Superior communication skillsSalary Range: $70,000-$90,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr
