Job Summary
As a Speech and Language Pathologist at Concorde Education, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing communication and language skills among K-12 students. This position is crucial for supporting students with diverse speech and language needs, thereby directly impacting their academic performance and social integration. The successful candidate will tailor intervention and support strategies to individual student profiles, ensuring all learners can express themselves effectively and confidently. By improving these essential skills, the Speech and Language Pathologist will contribute significantly to the overall mission of Concorde Education—fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment where every student thrives.

General Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a speech and language curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of the students.
  • Lead speech and language sessions focusing on individual student goals, including articulation, fluency, voice regulation, and receptive and expressive language skills.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment that encourages students to practice and improve their communication skills.
  • Assess students' speech and language abilities and provide constructive feedback to promote growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and program coordinators to integrate the speech and language curriculum with other educational offerings.
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records of their achievements and challenges.
  • Facilitate regular communication with parents, guardians, and educational stakeholders regarding student performance and program updates.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment used in speech therapy sessions are properly set up, maintained, and stored.

Major Duties

  • Curriculum Development: Develop engaging and effective lesson plans that cater to varying speech and language needs, incorporating current best practices in speech pathology.
  • Instruction: Lead sessions that are dynamic and interactive, ensuring that the student is actively engaged and benefiting from the educational experience.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly evaluate student progress using standardized tools and informal observations, adapting instruction to meet evolving needs.
  • Technology Management: Utilize and maintain speech therapy technology and tools to enhance learning experiences and outcomes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep meticulous records of student progress, session notes, and formal assessments, reporting to necessary parties as required.
