Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Own the month-end closing process, ensuring timely financial statements are produced.
  • Prepare journal entries; maintain and reconcile ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness for 9 legal entities.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and company policies.
  • Manage the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, collections, payroll, cash management and HR administrative functions.
  • Prepare and file regulatory reporting; Sales Tax, Motor Vehicle Tire Fee & 1099 reporting.
  • Work with outside tax firm for the year-end income tax process.
  • Manage insurance renewals and audits.
  • Manage employee benefits and workers compensation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Develop yearly budgets with Management team.
  • Prepare forecasting & rolling budget reports.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Seeks opportunities for process enhancements; suggests plans and implements new policies and procedures as required.
  • Manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of a BS in accounting, finance, 8-12 years in progressive accounting role.
  • Experience with a multi-disciplined company (construction and/or service a plus)
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related programs.
  • Experience with enterprise level ERP and Financial software.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
  • A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be seen as a team player.
  • A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  • An effective communicator, with strong oral and written skills.

Summary: This is a hands-on role that is responsible for the oversight of all financial management, including, accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Serves as a key partner to the CEO and will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team.
