The Survey Field Technician is responsible for performing tasks and operating instruments to assist the Crew Chief in daily routine surveying.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible to the Chief who is ultimately responsible for the party and for directing the field activities.
• Perform tasks to assist the Chief in the daily routine of surveying.
• Responsible for assisting the Chief in attaining thorough and accurate data collection.
• Responsible for having the appropriate equipment and supplies in the vehicle.
• Bring problems and conflicts immediately to the Chief?s attention to ensure expeditious resolution.
• Ensure batteries are charged (batteries are assigned to each crew).
• Consult the Equipment Inventory List in the morning and mark off all items just before leaving the field. This list will be reviewed daily. All malfunctioning, broken, lost, or stolen equipment must be reported to the Chief so replacements may be provided.
• Return all equipment to its assigned location at the end of each day.
• When in the field, act as another set of eyes for the Chief and aid in assessing field activities and confirm adherence to standards. Report instrument malfunctions, settlement, or similar observations/problems to the Chief immediately.
• Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.
• Safeguard survey instruments and equipment and ensure that they are properly adjusted and maintained.
• Ensures client satisfaction in all Client relations and interactions.
