The accounting team is seeking to add a Cost Accountant to our existing team. The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing and improving processes, helping reduce costs and increase efficiencies.

This role will encompass all aspects of cost accounting and requires a candidate with sound experience.

The Cost Accountant will report to the Senior Cost Accountant.

Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities:

• Monitor all variance accounts, determine root cause, and take necessary and appropriate actions to correct, reporting variances as required.
• Supports the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data.
• Calculate overhead allocations.
• Calculate direct personnel cost.
• Calculate machine and equipment rates.
• Provide support to ensure the accuracy of cost center allocations.
• Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
• Reconcile bank accounts and various G/L accounts for month end closing.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Prepare any other necessary and appropriate reporting documentation as required.
• Willingness to share information but can differentiate when the need of confidentiality is required.
• Perform any task as assigned by Controller and other Senior Leadership.
• Ability to analyze large sets of data from various sources

Requirements:

• 3-7 years experience with "hands on" cost accounting, general ledger, credit card processing and/or bank reconciliations.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Proficient in Google Docs, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
• Positive attitude and an eagerness to exceed expectations. Must be a team player.
• Demonstrate ability to effectively prioritize & self-direct the day-to-day workload.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented and have excellent administrative and organizational skills.
• High degree of familiarity with cost accounting functions.
