Summary This position is located in the Office of Inspector General, in Washington, D.C. Responsibilities Serves as a Management and Program Analyst within the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Mission Support. The AmeriCorps OIG is an independent office within AmeriCorps that provides oversight of the agency's programs and operations to protect the integrity of national service. This position is responsible for providing and executing a full range of analytical, administrative, budgetary, program, policy, and operational support for the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Provide technical assistance and use accounting software to research, compile, analyze and present financial information in reports for use in management decision making. Analyze data and compile detailed reports that measure the OIG program performance for submission to OIG leadership, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the agency. Develop modifications, revisions, and implementing procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations and financial management processes within the OIG. Research current or new management practices for application to programs or operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the low range of the NY-03 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-12 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes providing and executing a full range of analytical, administrative, budgetary, program, policy, and operational support for the Office of Inspector General (OIG). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps VISTA) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement; education may be substituted for Specialized Experience at this grade level. FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
