Food and Beverage Front of the House Supervisor - Taylor Hospitality at the Institute of Advanced Learning and Research

Taylor Hospitality manages all the hospitality at The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research and is recruiting for a Food and Beverage Front of House Supervisor to lead our front-of-the-house operations for both Catered Events and MegaBytes Cafe’.   • To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude, be detailed oriented, and deliver outstanding guest experiences. and have a "hard worker" mentality.
  • The Front of the House Supervisor must be flexible, open-minded, and adaptable to change, with strong organizational, management and time management skills. Additionally must be able to interact well with guests, members, management, and team members in a professional manner. The Front of the House Supervisor will promote the core values of Taylor Hospitality, our associates, members, guests, and vendors.
  • Management experience in a dining / function/ sales environment is necessary. The Front of the House Supervisor will have excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. It is necessary to use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to lead associates toward service and revenue goal achievement.

Compensation & Benefits : $50,000-$55,000 per year,  along with Full-Time Team Member benefits including health, dental, vision, and life, 401(k), STD, LTD, paid holiday, vacation, personal & sick time, lean management training, and numerous other employee discount benefits through our HR provider LL Roberts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of the execution of banquet, catering, and Megabytes Cafe operations for Taylor Hospitality at IALR, ensuring a seamless experience for our guests.
  • Manage event set-up, day-of coordination, and collaboration with vendors, delivery, and client requirements. Assess staffing levels and assignments for the front of house team.
  • Ensure all team members are well-trained in service sequence, product knowledge, and committed to meeting each guest's needs.
  • Evaluate banquet layouts and equipment, working closely with vendors to ensure proper setup in line with the banquet event order (BEO).
  • Coordinate rental items for events, including developing timelines, floor plans, menus, and banquet event orders.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with guests, members, management, and team members.
  • Supervise, train, and ensure the exceptional performance of the Banquet Team, adhering to Taylor Hospitality standards.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor service standards, ensuring consistent high-quality production and service for all catering activities.
  • Organize staff for pre-shift activities, ensuring smooth operations from the start.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, Minimum of one year working in food and beverage or similar training
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates preferred, Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, Basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Applications.

Experience Required: Mid Level Food and Beverage Experience required.
