National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties is Hiring an Event Coordinator Near Washington, DC

Title: Events Coordinator

Responsible to: Events Manager and Program Director

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; Master degree preferred

Summary of Position

The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) is a membership organization serving nurse practitioner faculty at various higher education institutions. The Events Coordinator will assist with a variety of tasks related to organizational events and programs including but not limited to meetings, webinars, programs and conferences. This position will support NONPF’s mission through increasing membership professional development, engagement and retention as a member, and improving the attendee experience at NONPF events and programs.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist the Events Manager in the following:

o Developing and reviewing event orders.

o Organizing logistics and materials for event and program speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors.

o Maintaining timelines, preparing notes, and communicating deadlines with the event and program planning committees.

o Assemble the continuing education (CE) packet for all events and programs offering CE credit.

o Identifying vendors to meet specific needs.

· Supports the development and maintenance of event and program websites.

· Provides on-site and virtual event and attendee management.

· Acts as the main point of contact for attendee questions and registration assistance.

· Writes, proofreads, and edits marketing materials, collateral, and content for events and programs.

· Collect and organize post-event data.

· Assists in developing strategies to improve events.

· Research industry trends to support event improvement strategies.

· Provide excellent customer service to committee members, attendees, sponsors, speakers, and others who are associated with events.

· Handle day-to-day administration of events and programs, including but not limited to committee and speaker management, vendor monitoring, travel planning, event order reviews, restaurant reservations, attendee participation, registration tracking, and problem resolution.

· Performs such similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required or assigned.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the work of the position or equivalent experience.

· 1-2 years’ experience with event planning and/or program management at a non-profit, government, or community-based, human service management and operations organization preferred.

· Computer savvy. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Easily learns and adapts to new technologies. Experience working in Cvent Event Management preferred.

· Working knowledge of the full cycle event planning process.

· Creative and proactive problem solver.

· Organized and detail oriented.

· Self-starter who can work independently.

· Ability to adapt and learn new techniques quickly.

Personal Capabilities:

NONPF is seeking a collaborative individual who can work effectively with volunteers, staff, and external contacts to build and maintain successful teams, community partners and coalitions.

· Can prioritize and manage multiple priorities with a high volume of details.

· Excellent communication skills including in-person and electronically, to a variety of audiences.

· Critical and creative thinker.

· Can comfortably speak in public to groups of varying sizes.

· Travel to perform job duties, when necessary.

· Ability to effectively facilitate groups and coordinate group activities.

· High level of integrity, diplomacy, and initiative.

· Personable demeanor

· Detail-oriented and possess excellent follow-up skills.

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

Must possess the ability, and capability, to perform any task in the office. Must be able to lift 25lbs or more, be able to physically move thorough the office unaided and have excellent visual and hearing acuity.

Must be a US citizen

Working Conditions

· Work is performed in an office environment in Washington, DC with flexible telework options.

· Moderate volume of public contact.

· Some travel required to attend meetings, conferences and for training.

· Work may be stressful during periods of high volume or tight deadlines.
