National General is seeking a Claims Customer Service Rep. The ideal candidate will have experience working for an insurance carrier handling inbound calls.
This position will consist of handling heavy phones regarding liability, setting up auto claims, and anything in between.
Training is paid, and consists of a 4-week IN-OFFICE training program. The training will be held at our NY Uniondale office - MUST live locally to drive for training.
Once training is complete, this will be a fully work from home / remote position. We will supply work from home equipment.
Job Summary :
This role is also responsible for assisting where needed with training and special projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers
Identifies the customer's need and responds appropriately and efficiently with a sense of urgency
Follows established guidelines specific to each claim report or inquiry
Locates, confirms and documents appropriate information, which may involve multiple systems
Remains current on constant process updates and technology used within the company
May utilize multiple communication channels including but not limited to telephone, fax, email, or online chat, to assist the client
Acts as a mentor and assists with training as needed
May assist with special projects

High School diploma or equivalent experience

Functional Skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a HUGE plus!
Experience in customer service or call center with the ability to empathize with the customer
Ability to multi-task (i.e. talking and typing simultaneously) in a fast-paced environment
Organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet skills
Professional verbal and written communication skills
High degree of initiative, mature judgment and discretion
Ability to navigate through multiple systems with speed and accuracy
National General prides itself on offering our employees a robust Total Rewards package which includes base salary. The base range offered for the role is : $38,150 - $46,000 and may vary based on internal equity, and job-related skills, knowledge and experience;
among other factors. Other financial components may be added as part of the competitive compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
