National Field Hockey Coaches Association is Hiring a Marketing manager Near Lansing, MI

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Executive Director and collaborating closely with the Digital Communications Specialist, the Marketing & Member Services Manager will :

Marketing

  • Manage the association’s website and develop digital campaigns for NFHCA event promotion and member programming
  • Create compelling messaging and content for membership emails, newsletters, web content, event promotions, and the NFHCA Giving campaign
  • Leverage and curate various types of content, including video, to optimize messaging and engagement
  • Ensure all content aligns with branding guidelines, presenting a positive association image
  • Utilize basic graphic design skills to enhance marketing materials and digital campaigns
  • Provide editorial rigor for digital content, ensuring it is engaging and effective and builds brand reputation
  • Identify and execute strategies for effective membership acquisition, member retention, and expanding the NFHCA community
  • Monitor website metrics, evaluate performance, and optimize content accordingly
  • Assist with the optimization of the association’s content strategy and calendar
  • Stay updated on the latest marketing best practices and technologies

Member Services

  • Perform efficient and effective membership services that demonstrably help the NFHCA deliver value, grow, and meet or exceed annual goals.
  • Monitor and respond to members and prospective member inquiries by phone and e-mail professionally and expediently. Perform active follow-up to optimize the conversion of the prospects into members.
  • Advise members / nonmembers on member services, benefits, the member portal and programming to meet their individual needs
  • Conduct outreach to new, current, lapsed, and prospective members
  • Foster an engaging membership community
  • Deliver virtual member benefit orientations for new members
  • Support the annual membership renewal cycle administratively and through effective membership drive campaign management
  • Collaborate with small staff and association committees
  • Assist in executing NFHCA events
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects as needed

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Impeccable writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-directed with a high level of dependability and self-initiative
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • WordPress website administrator experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with visual communication principles and basic graphic design
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively and collaboratively with a small, agile team
  • Discerning judgment while being proactive and responsive
  • Effective stress management abilities and emotional intelligence
  • Commitment to NFHCA’s mission and goals
  • Creativity and familiarity with the latest trends in digital communications and marketing
  • Knowledge and experience with AP writing style
  • Canva and / or Adobe Creative Suite experience
  • SEO experience a plus, but not required
  • Solid video editing skills a plus
  • CRM or AMS experience a plus
  • Passion for sports a plus

Job Type & Hours

This is a part-time hourly (non-exempt) position working on average 20 hours weekly, depending on the time of year. 18-22 hours weekly can be expected from mid-August through February.

15-17 hours can be expected March mid-August. NFHCA office hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8 : 30 am 5 : 00 pm.

There will be occasional weeknights and weekends based on NFHCA-related events and other business needs that may occur after normal business hours.

Location & Work Environment

This is a remote position working in the U.S., except when helping with events and meetings. High-speed internet, a working personal laptop or computer, and a quiet home office environment are necessary for this position.

Some occasional domestic travel will be needed when traveling to support NFHCA events and meetings (less than 15% travel).

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is $27-$29 / hourly and will be reviewed annually at the time of the employee’s Annual Performance Review. A monthly home office stipend of $65 is provided for computer, internet, and phone to be paid at the end of each month.

25 hours of paid time off (PTO) is available annually after one year of permanent, continuous employment. In addition, up to two weeks (10 total business working days) of unpaid time off is available with supervisor approval after six months of employment.

There are no health insurance, leave, or retirement benefits for this part-time position. Since the NFHCA has under 50 employees, the NFHCA is not required by law to provide .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of professional full-time career experience in any field with a minimum of three years in a marketing role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and creative software programs such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Travel and work at the NFHCA Annual Convention for one full week in January and two to three other NFHCA-related events annually (non-negotiable)
  • Occasional evening and weekend availability, estimated to be less than 20% of the time
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Must have a quiet home office with high-speed internet and computer
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
