National Equipment & Service Corporation is Hiring a Low-Voltage Electrician/Access Control Technician Near Irvine, CA

The Low Voltage Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems. This role involves working with various low voltage systems, including but not limited to security systems, telecommunications, audiovisual equipment, and computer networks. The Low Voltage Electrician ensures that all installations comply with relevant codes and standards while providing efficient and reliable solutions to meet client needs.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Install, maintain, and repair low voltage electrical systems, including security systems, telecommunications, audiovisual equipment, and computer networks.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine layout and installation procedures.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on low voltage systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with low voltage systems, utilizing testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to coordinate installations and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Document all installations, maintenance activities, and repairs accurately for record-keeping purposes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with low voltage electrical systems.

Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Work Environment

The role involves working in warehouses, indoors, and outdoor customer locations, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment to ensure safety.

Travel Requirements

Frequent travel to and from job sites, vendor locations, and headquarters located in Irvine is expected.
