National Equipment & Service Corporation is Hiring a Commercial Door Installer - Entry Level Near Pomona, CA

A successful Field Service Technician (FST) will inspect, service, troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair industrial doors, loading dock equipment, and material handling systems throughout the Southwest Region. FSTs must be available to travel throughout Orange County, LA County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, San Diego County, and beyond, in some cases. However, Dispatch does their best to keep FSTs close to home.

FSTs must be presentable and showcase good customer service skills, as you will serve as the face of the company and be the primary point of contact at the job site representing NES. FSTs will also work directly with our sales team and act as a technical resource. FSTs will sometimes work in teams of 2, but may be required to work independently in the field. FSTs must be able to work independently or with a team in a field environment.

This position requires some experience with welding and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical systems. Prior experience in the repair or installation of industrial equipment and welding is preferred, but not necessary. This position requires the ability to work outdoors, at heights, and lift up to 75 lbs. Due to our customers' policies, this position requires a complete background screening. Also, candidates will be required to drive company vehicles, so a pre-employment drug screening, along with clean driving record and satisfactory DOT physical are mandatory.

While most of our training is hands-on in the field alongside an experienced FST, we also provide Employment Orientation to teach you the fundamentals of the equipment and our company culture. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with Dispatch.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance by cleaning, lubing, cycling, and inspecting all aspects of serviceable equipment.
  • Troubleshoot industrial equipment, mechanisms, as well as mechanical and electrical circuits.
  • Perform inspections, repairs, service, testing, troubleshooting, and install on a variety of warehouse and loading dock equipment.
  • Assist with larger jobs, as needed, in coordination with Field Service Manager.
  • Complete detailed service reports at the end of each assignment.
  • Maintain company truck, phone, and safety gear (provided by company).
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, fast paced, technology-driven, field service environment
  • Follows all safety procedures and company policies at all times
  • Able to work well without supervision and in a team environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience with maintenance and/or repair of commercial doors, loading docks, dock levelers, and other related warehouse and industrial equipment.
  • Experience in welding or steel fabrication.
  • Experience with electrical work.
  • Experience in Mechanical, Commercial, and Industrial Maintenance.
  • Able to thrive in a diverse, fast paced, technology-driven, field service environment.
  • Able to follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times.
  • Able to work well without supervision and in a team environment.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be a strong communicator.
  • Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Must have a valid A, B or C Driver’s License with a Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to pass a standard Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work is performed in various locations, including warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and food-grade facilities. Employees may work with co-workers’ side-by-side with a moderate level of activity being performed. Exposure to high voltage AC/DC power is very common in many work environments. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high.
