We currently have exceptional opportunities for part-time and full-time Food Service Workers at Nassau University Medical Center. Good communication and customer service skills are essential. If you’re a “people person” who enjoys serving others, this is the perfect job. Paid training provided.

In this role you will:

• Stock work stations with food items.
• Prepare food, sandwiches, salads, cafeteria items.
• Push carts, food trucks on elevators to serve patient meals at bedside
• Store food in freezers/refrigerators in accordance with food safety practices.
• Monitor inventory, stocking shelves, checking dates on food, rotating foods.
• Train to use an electronic tablet to assist patients with menu selections.
• Follow the Department of Health Safety and Sanitation guidelines: Clean/sanitize work stations and cooking equipment, refrigerators, floors. Work in the dish room sanitizing pots/pans, loading dishwasher.
• Carry and lift boxes, up to 50 lbs.

We require:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Food service experience preferred
• ServSafe certificate or food handling/sanitation certificate preferred.
