We are searching for an experienced Work Study II – Office Assistant at our Nalanda Campus facility.

Position Title: Work Study II – Office Assistant

Work Location Authorization: Hybrid On-Site/Remote
Campus Location: Nalanda Campus
Reports to: Reports to Faculty
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt/Hourly
FTE: 20% (8 hrs/week)
Compensation: $15.50

Job Summary
The work study for the Department of Education assists with school business and helps provide office support at Nalanda.
Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a positive team environment and behave professionally with everyone encountered in the course and scope of the job duties.
  • Sort and distribute mail, copy jobs and other documents as needed.
  • Operate standard office equipment, including copy and fax machine.
  • Complete general alpha and numerical filing in both paper and electronic formats.
  • Perform routine customer service tasks requiring good listening and response skills, basic departmental knowledge, and a friendly, responsive attitude.
  • Complete limited research projects as assigned.
  • Assist with supporting departmental events, including occasional evening events. This would include setting up, taking down and any duties as required during the event.
  • Keep work study area and kitchen tidy.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized office area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Research and special projects, as assigned, include work and support in the 6 Core areas, JEDI, and the education minor.

  • Excellent PC computer knowledge and MS Office, primarily Word and Excel.
  • Good communication, writing, research and editing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-sufficiency and the ability to follow projects through to completion.
  • Willingness to co-create an inclusive community and actively participate in related professional development, including openness to feedback and on-going self-examination.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education.
  • Current Naropa Elementary Education student.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb stairs.

A comprehensive benefits package is available to full-time employees who work a minimum of 30 hours each week. Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa’s retirement plan only, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.
All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff, including student workers, accrue sick leave benefits. Full-time and part-time staff positions accrue vacation and personal time. All leave accrual rates vary based on the position, hours worked, and years of service.
