    SUMMARY: Performs a wide variety of administrative support, technical accounts processing, and financial recording duties; performs directly related work as required.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Responsible for the reconciliation of all open invoices and purchase orders and prepares for weekly payments.
    • Works with vendors to reconcile statements and payments.
    • Performs general ledger invoice functions and audit responsibilities.
    • Receives and processes all district invoices and incoming checks, as needed.
    • Processes fingerprint reconciliation and related journal entries.
    • Maintains district level p-cards and completes daily reconciliation.
    • Responsible for entering cash journal entries.
    • Responsible for month end close and processing required reports, as needed
    • Responsible for managing Preston Capell loans with quarterly statements, tracking of payments received, verification of enrollment, and works with Finance Director on loans that are over 90 days delinquent.
    • Provides assistance and training to schools as needed.
    • Provides district wide assistance for travel and requests and processes travel forms.
    • Generates financial reports and other related documents at specified time intervals, as needed.
    • Coordinates large district level purchases, as needed.
    • Provides backup support to designated personnel within the district office, as needed.
    • Maintains supplies and other purchasing needs of the district office.
    • Provides quality customer service.
    • Maintains and ensures confidentiality.
    • Demonstrates flexibility to perform duties and responsibilities when deemed necessary.
    • Assists with specific functions and projects as assigned by Accounting Supervisor.
    • Assumes responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by attendance at professional meetings, membership in professional organizations, enrollment in advanced courses, and by reading professional journals and other publications.
    • Seeks assistance should emergencies arise
    • Represents the school district in a positive manner.
    • Knows and follows school district policy and chain of command.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
    • High school diploma/GED, required.
    • Two to four years of experience in an accounts payable position, preferred.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    • Association with related accounting organizations and/or chapters is preferred.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
    • Knowledge of work processing, data bases, spreadsheets, and reports
    • Knowledge of automated office equipment and efficient office procedures
    • Strong telephone skills and ability to communicate effectively
    • Works well with students, staff, and the public
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Able to work under pressures and deadlines
    • Maintain confidentiality of staff and students

    COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze and interpret governmental regulations, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, employees, clients, customers, and/or the general public.
