Overview:
We are seeking a Sushi Chef who has at least 1 year of experience to join our team at Nami - Korean Kitchen. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes to our customers. If you have a passion for culinary arts and enjoy creating delicious and visually appealing sushi, we would love to hear from you. You will learn from an very experienced head chef new skills, fish and food varieties to be excited with.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new sushi menu items
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for sushi ingredients as needed
- Train and mentor junior sushi chefs or apprentices, if applicable
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and addressing any concerns or inquiries
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry
- Knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including knife skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Attention to detail and presentation skills
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique sushi creations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
